Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)

FSWP is designed to attract foreign workers with high skills and experience who can successfully integrate into Canadian society and contribute to the economy.

Basic requirements for program candidates:

Minimum Score for Program Qualification: To qualify for the FSWP and register an Express Entry profile, a candidate must gain a minimum passing score of 67.

Work Experience. A minimum of one year of continuous and paid work experience, on a full-time basis in a skilled occupation. Canada has a classification system for all occupations and professions, in this system you need to find your occupation and check if it qualifies for immigration. Work experience must be documented within the last 10 years.

English or French language skills. IELTS (General Module) or CELPIP for English, TEF for French.

Education. If the education was obtained outside Canada, an ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) must be obtained.

Proof of Funds. The amount depends on the number of family members and IRCC changes (increases) the amount almost every year.

Additional FSWP points are earned for:

Providing a spouse’s language certificate
Studying in Canada
Work experience in Canada
Having close relatives in Canada
